Joshua Fine earned his Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of California, Los Angeles and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame Law School. He began his career with the Los Angeles office of Klinedinst, P.C., where he had a diverse transactional as well as litigation practice. After leaving Klinedinst in 2006, Joshua co-founded SFW Holdings, Inc., a real estate holding company specializing in acquisitions and development in Costa Rica. While steering SFW through its early stages, Joshua's private practice began organically and eventually grew to take up the majority of his time. Today, Joshua serves as general counsel to numerous non-public companies, and counsels corporate and individual clients in the entertainment, real estate and fashion industries. Joshua is a frequent lecturer at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), covering such topics as Intellectual Property, Business Law for Fashion, and Ethics. In addition, Joshua has served as an adjunct professor at FIDM, teaching Macroeconomics and English Writing Skills. With respect to entertainment, Joshua primarily represents writers, producers, start-ups and early-stage enterprises, specializing in structuring creative, preliminary-stage transactions. Due to his hands-on nature with his clients, he is often asked to participate in creating the initial or revised infrastructure for his clients. Further, Joshua frequently assists his clients in developing their marketing and financing plans, as well as assisting with the creative process. Recently, Joshua co-founded a production company, GBA Entertainment, focusing on modest-budget features and new-media content.
Prior to entering the bar, Joshua served as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom (“OIF”), earning numerous medals for his service during the initial stages of OIF in 2003. |
